Job summary

Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Special Procedures Technologist to perform complex diagnostic and interventional imaging using fluoroscopy and angiography. You will prepare rooms, administer contrast, assist physicians, educate patients, and ensure strict adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.

The role requires ARRT RTR, CRT, California Radiologic Licensure, BLS-CPR, and advanced certifications in CV/VI/CT.

Qualifications

• California Medical Radiographer License required.
• ARRT RTR credential and CRT license required.
• Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech certification preferred.
• BLS-CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostic and interventional procedures using imaging modalities.
• Prepare procedure rooms and operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment.
• Administer contrast safely and assist physicians during interventions.
• Educate patients, monitor conditions, and maintain accurate records.
• Perform daily quality assurance and adhere to safety regulations.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Diagnostic Imaging Special Procedures Technologist, you will be a central figure in our advanced imaging team, expertly performing complex diagnostic and interventional procedures using various imaging modalities to obtain critical diagnostic information. You will play a vital role in patient care, ensuring technical precision, radiation safety, and patient comfort.

Every day, you will meticulously prepare procedure rooms, operate advanced imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy, angiography), administer contrast safely, and assist physicians during intricate interventions. You will also provide essential patient education, monitor conditions closely, maintain meticulous records, and perform daily quality assurance, strictly adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you will combine ARRT certification, specialized advanced certification (e.g., CV, VI, or CT), and a profound understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and procedural imaging. You will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and meticulous attention to detail, thriving in a dynamic, high-pressure environment dedicated to delivering high-quality, precise special procedures imaging.

• Demonstrates competency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients
• Technologist can be required to participate in the departments call schedule to ensure coverage weeknights, weekends and holidays
• May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure
