Job summary

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is seeking a radiology professional to perform imaging procedures and educate patients within a supportive team. The role requires ARRT certification, state licensure if applicable, and BLS. The candidate should have about two years of acute care experience and a commitment to patient safety and quality.

Excellent benefits accompany the position. Shifts are 36 hours per week across 3x12-hour blocks, with compensation including a retention bonus and relocation

Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • National certification from ARRT and licensure by the state if applicable.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Typically 2 years of experience; acute care hospital setting preferred.
  • Foundation Health Registry and Travel positions require experience in an acute care hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures by following referring providers' orders and policy.
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and treatments.
  • Produce high-quality images and maintain documentation.
  • Demonstrate competence in prescribed invasive/interventional procedures, if applicable.
  • Perform quality control measurements and ensure safe environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical responsibilities in radiology practice.
  • Ensure efficient workflow and adequate inventory to prevent interruptions.

Pay & Benefits

Compensation: $40.08 to $64.13 hourly wage based on experience and education
Retention Bonus: $40,000 Retention Bonus for eligible new hires

  1. Performs procedures by following and verifying referring providers' orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
  2. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes.
  3. Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
  4. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable in accordance with established policies if applicable.
  5. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to safety policies.
  6. Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
  7. Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. (NMTCB)

Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. Advance certification by accrediting body in specialty required within 18 months of hire if applicable. BLS certification required.

This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems. Foundation Health Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months in the area of specialty.
