Job summary

Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, IL, seeks a Radiologic Technologist specialized in Computed Tomography to perform CT scans and prepare patients according to radiologist protocols. You will ensure accurate data submission to PACS and maintain strict radiation safety while administering contrast as needed.

The role requires BLS within 30 days of hire and ARRT CT or NMTCB certification prior to hire, with the potential for an evening shift and PRN scheduling.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration required, BLS within 1 month of hire, radiologic technologist credentialed from IEMA prior to hire.
• Nuclear Medicine or CT certifications may be required depending on the track.
• Associate degree or technical degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans to diagnose disease and injury following radiologist-established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients, set technical parameters, and administer contrast within scope and regulations.
• Monitor patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity.
• Ensure high-quality image submission to PACS with accurate patient data and maintain radiation safety.
• Work the assigned evening shift schedule.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Perform CT scans to diagnose disease and injury following radiologist-established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients, select appropriate technical parameters, and administer contrast/medications within scope and regulations.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist credentialed from IEMA obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

One or more of the following required:

• Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. NMTCB(CT) Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
