Job summary

You will review records, prepare equipment, position patients, and operate scanners while ensuring safety and accuracy across procedures.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, RIS/PACS workflow, and adherence to HIPAA, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Reviews patient's medical record and physician’s request prior to CT procedure.
• Determines proper settings; selects and prepares equipment and supplies.
• Performs CT-Scan for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes as ordered by physician.
• Explains procedure to patient/family in a caring, compassionate manner.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA/compliance practices.
• Practices radiation safety and uses protection devices per standards.
• Documents care and enters data into patient information systems.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient records and requests to obtain identifying information.
• Positions and immobilizes patient for CT procedures.
• Operates imaging equipment and adjusts settings to scan designated body parts.
• Observes patient and equipment during procedures and reports adverse events.
• Photographs images and processes film/images per procedures.
• Ensures accurate documentation for charges and records.
• Uses RIS to enter test data and transmit images to PACS.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in CPR/BLS/ACLS as required.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and adheres to infection control standards.
• Provides coverage for relief and on-call radiology shifts.
