Job summary

The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, NY seeks a CT Scan Technologist to perform CT procedures, generate sectional and 3D images, and assist with interventional and therapeutic procedures, working day hours 9 AM-5 PM.

The role requires reviewing patient history, preparing contrast, scheduling exams in EPIC, verifying prescriptions, managing PACS/EPIC data, maintaining patient safety, and calling physicians as needed. The position includes weekend/holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• 6 months CT experience preferred
• Knowledge of Epic and HIS/RIS systems used by the hospital
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiologic positioning
• Understanding mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware
• PACS system familiarity
• ARRT CT certification within 1 year is required
• NYS license and CT certification requirements must be met

Responsibilities

• Performs complex CT procedures and reviews patient history for procedures
• Prepares, screens and reviews contrast questionnaires and scans into EPIC
• Administers contrast as prescribed and communicates with radiologists
• Verifies prescriptions and insurances, schedules outside studies in EPIC
• Ensures PACS radiographs have proper identification and diagnostic value
• Maintains patient safety and informs patients about procedures
• Evaluates patient condition, monitors for adverse reactions, and covers shifts including holidays/weekends
