Job summary

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York, USA is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures, assist with contrast administration, and ensure image quality before sending to PACS. Responsibilities include patient positioning, dose optimization, and adhering to infection control standards.

The role requires a NYS license with IV certification, ARRT in Radiology (CT desirable), and at least 1 year of related experience. AM A approved training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of job-related experience.
• NY State License with IV certification is required.
• Completed formal training in AMA approved school.
• ARRT in Radiology is required with ARRT in CT desirable.
• Knowledge of CT principles and procedures; one year experience as staff technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Positions and transfers patients to the exam table.
• Provides immobilization devices as required.
• Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis and follows CT dose optimization.
• Consults with physician and/or reads physician's orders to determine proper testing procedures according to established protocol.
• Assists the physician in preparing and administering contrast material using the power injector.
• Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or CT procedures.
• Practices sterile techniques and adheres to Infection Control Policies.
• Transport patients to and from the Radiology Department when necessary.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Follows all established stroke protocols.
• Assists Physicians with biopsies and other invasive procedures.
• Examining images to ensure they're usable before sending them to PACS.
• Cleans and maintains CT scan equipment and the power injector after each use.
• Maintains CT scan supplies and makes orders for supply restocks as required.
• Uses CT scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis.
• Operates CT scanners and associated equipment safely and in accordance with established policies and practices.
• Keeps radiation exposure ALARA and uses CT dose optimization for different age groups as required.

Position Requirements

• This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a and Job-Related minimum of 1 year job-related experience.
• Desired (not required) criteria include: Completed formal training in AMA approved school. ARRT in Radiology required with ARRT in CT desirable. Through knowledge of CT principles/procedures. One year experience as staff technologist; comparable hospital setting preferred.
• License, New York State License with IV certification

Shift

• Must be flexible Monday and Friday 7a-3p, Evenings 3p-11p, Overnights 11p-7a, and Weekends 7a-11p

Hourly: $62.38
