Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a CT Technologist to operate a GE/Siemens CT scanner, perform complex CT procedures, and mentor students in a fast-paced radiology department.

Qualified candidates will hold RI radiology and CT licenses, ARRT certification, and CPR. The role requires 6+ months CT experience and a supportive, safety-conscious approach in a per diem 16-hour monthly schedule at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI.

Qualifications

• RI state Radiology license and CT license from the DOH required.
• ARRT certification required and in good standing.
• Current CPR certification from AHA, BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Six months’ experience as Radiologic Technologist plus six months CT specialization training.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex CT procedures in a busy Radiology Department.
• Operate CT scanner and related equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Train students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques.
• Ensure safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure and protect patients.

Job description

SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the CT Manager, Lead CT Technologists, and the Imaging Coordinator according to established procedures, operates a CT scanner and related equipment in order to produce radiographs of any designated anatomical area. All essential functions performed in the position reflect age specific needs of the geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients. Assure quality results Train fellow students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques About the Department: Department of five scanners both GE and Siemens Work with state-of-the-art technology including use of GE Revolution Ascend , Ulrich CT Motion Injector Teaching environment with training available for all types of cardiac imaging Team environment with support staff assisting the technologist by transporting patients and performing ancillary duties MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Must hold a RI state Radiology license and CT supplemental license from the DOH. Must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT). Must hold a current CPR certification from AHA, BLS for Healthcare Providers. Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required, plus registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists. EXPERIENCE: Six months’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus six months specialized training in the operation of the CT Scanner. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work location is generally in the CT Scan area or satellite areas where there is little discomfort due to noise, dust or temperature. Exposed to radiation, but there is little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed. Long periods of standing, along with walking, pushing potable equipment and lifting and positioning of patients is required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

Pay Range:

$39.56-$65.28
