Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a CT Technologist for a full-time night shift. The position requires three 12-hour shifts from 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., totaling 36 hours per week.

You will position patients, administer contrast, document scan details, and ensure high-quality images while maintaining patient safety. Responsibilities include QA, scheduling and recordkeeping, and equipment maintenance. Required credentials include ARRT, IEMA Nuclear Safety, and BLS; 2–3 years of undergraduate

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety certification required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Position and immobilize patient on examining table.
• Administer oral and/or IV contrast per protocols and orders; follow post-exam instructions.
• Enter scan data such as type, slice thickness, and time into the computer.
• Communicate with patients; monitor safety and comfort during procedures.
• Review images for quality and produce radiographs as needed.
• Perform CT equipment QA and maintain required logs.
• Handle clerical tasks: receiving orders, scheduling, and recordkeeping.
• Maintain and clean workspace and equipment; replenish supplies.

Description

This is a full-time night position scheduled for 36 hours per week.The CT Tech will be required to work three (3) 12-hour shifts from 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
• Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions.
• Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
• Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort.
• Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
• Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
• Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
• Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• ARRT
• IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety
• BLS through American Heart Association
• 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent

Preferred:

• ARRT registry in CT or MRI
• 1 year experience
