Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a CT Technologist for a full-time night position in Chicago. The role requires three 12-hour night shifts from 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., totaling 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities include positioning patients, administering contrast, data entry, patient communication, image review, QA, and clerical duties. Required ARRT, IEMA Nuclear Safety, and BLS certifications, with 2–3 years of undergrad education or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent required.
• ARRT registry in CT or MRI preferred.
• 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
• Administers oral/IV contrast per policies and procedures and follows post exam instructions.
• Enters data: type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other data into computer.
• Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety and comfort.
• Views images on display; ensures quality of pictures and produces radiographs.
• Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
• Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
• Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies.

Job Description

This is a full-time night position scheduled for 36 hours per week.The CT Tech will be required to work three (3) 12-hour shifts from 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

• Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions.
• Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
• Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort.
• Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
• Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
• Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
• Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• ARRT
• IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety
• BLS through American Heart Association
• 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent

Preferred:

• ARRT registry in CT or MRI
• 1 year experience
