Job summary

AdventHealth in Orange City, FL is seeking a CT Technologist to maintain CT imaging quality and patient safety. You will educate patients, operate scanners, manage IV contrast, and ensure timely documentation in EMR/PACS, while adhering to safety protocols and clinical guidelines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with radiologists, adherence to ALARA, and ongoing quality checks within a faith-based healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Grad or Equiv
• Associates or higher preferred
• Experience: 1+ years in radiology imaging preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Educates patients about the exam and completes exams timely, maintaining workflow.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors.
• Practices infection control and uses PPE and disinfectants.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures.
• Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with orders and protocols.
• Reviews patient history to confirm exam appropriateness and contraindications.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material and monitors for adverse reactions.
• Positions patients accurately while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA.
• Collaborates with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of care.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
• Performs and documents daily system quality control checks.
