Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, AL is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographs and assist in CT procedures under physician supervision.

Candidates must complete a two-year radiologic technology program, obtain ARRT certification within 90 days of hire, and have hospital radiology experience. CT experience is preferred and teamwork with radiology staff is essential for high-quality imaging.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures and operation/maintenance of radiologic equipment typically gained from a 2-year radiologic technology program.
• ARRT(R) certification must be acquired within 90 days of hire.
• Up to 24 months of hospital radiology experience preferred to gain familiarity with dept. policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and portable radiography equipment to obtain routine radiographs.
• Assist physicians in examinations by preparing contrast media and aiding in sterile procedures.
• Occasionally perform CT in addition to general radiology work.

• Operates fixed and portable fluoroscopic or conventional radiographs equipment to obtain routine radiographs.
• Assist physicians in examinations by mixing and preparing contrast media, assisting in sterile procedures, etc.
• In addition to general radiology, at times may also perform CT.

Qualificationsfor the job...

• Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as well as operation and maintenance of radiologic equipment as normally acquired through completion of two years post high school training in an approved school of radiologic technology.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) must be acquired within 90 days of hire date.
• Up to twenty-four months experience necessary in order to gain familiarity with hospital environment and department routine, polices and procedures in diagnostic radiology and any specialty areas.
• Formal education in specialty areas would be accepted in lieu of experience.
• CT experienced.
