Job summary

UPMC seeks a patient-focused staff technologist support role to assist in daily CT services under supervision. The position supports scheduling, patient intake, transfer, IV access, contrast preparation, and imaging setup, while ensuring safety and adherence to department guidelines.

Responsibilities include patient transport, room preparation, QC participation, equipment reporting, and collaboration with technologists to maintain smooth CT operations.

Responsibilities

• Meets patients as they arrive and assists with paperwork and documentation.
• Escorts patients to dressing areas and conducts MRI screening to ensure safe scanning.
• Establishes IV access and assists with contrast preparation and patient instructions.
• Pads, positions, centers and aligns the patient and imaging table under technologist direction.
• Performs telemetry monitoring as needed and provides discharge instructions.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and assists QC testing according to guidelines.
• Transports patients and cleans/preps the exam room after procedures.
