Job Description:

The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position requires ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment to perform high-quality scans.

As a CT Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will:

  • Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job
  • Understand and operate CT equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure production of quality images
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepare the patient for the exam
  • Follow appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining applicable QC program, and reporting any equipment failures or problems
  • Administer contrast media to patients as ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision, providing education regarding safety concerns
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols through continuing education and professional development

Minimum Qualifications for CT Tech:

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 60 days
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) upon hire
  • Licensure in the state of practice as applicable, upon hire
  • IV Competency within 90 days

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluoroscopy certification (for caregivers hired in Colorado)
  • Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - ARRT (R)(CT)
  • Facility-based certification as required by each facility
  • 1-2 years of hospital-based CT experience

Minimum Qualifications for CT Tech II:

  • Current ARRT (R) (CT) registration
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CT Technologist
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and recognition of normal and abnormal variants
  • Knowledge of radiation safety

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20

The hourly rate range is $34.06 - $52.55, depending on experience.
