Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, Colorado, seeks a Surgical Technician (CST) for a full-time day shift. You will prepare sterile tables, equipment, and medications for procedures, and anticipate the surgeon’s needs using the preference card.

Requires CST credential, BLS, and a minimum of 1 year CST experience in surgery. Strong attention to sterile technique and reliable teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills [Required]
• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program
• A minimum of 1 year of CST experience in a surgical setting [Required]
• Basic Life Support BLS Cert [Required]
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC)[Required]

Responsibilities

• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Prepares and labels solutions and medications used, reporting amounts for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon using the surgeon’s preference card.
• Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the surgeon, nurses, and/or anesthesiologist.

Job Description:

• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Prepares and labels solutions and medications used, reporting amounts for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon using the surgeon’s preference card.
• Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the surgeon, nurses, and/or anesthesiologist.
• Holds retractors or instruments, sponges or suctions operative site, applies electrocautery to clamps on bleeders, cuts suture material, connects drains to suction apparatus, and applies dressings to a wound.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program

Work Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of CST experience in a surgical setting [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:
