Job summary

Pet Services of Washington, P.S. is seeking a client-focused employee to work in a busy veterinary setting. You will greet clients, schedule appointments, discuss services and help guide pets to exam rooms.

Prior experience in an animal hospital and knowledge of veterinary terminology are preferred. The role requires excellent communication, compassion for pets and people, and the ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, with duties expanding to billing and

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

• The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving.

Job description

We are looking for someone who has the ability to work directly with our clients. Must have previous experience in a busy, client facing environment. It is preferred to have knowledge of veterinary terminology and experience in a veterinary facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms
• Scheduling and confirming appointments
• Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments
• Creating and presenting treatment plans based on the doctor's recommendations.
• Answering questions regarding services and cost
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least one year of proven past experience helping clients in an animal hospital setting
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

• Compassion for pets and people-as well as awareness and understanding of others' reactions
• Proven decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
• The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $18 to $21 per hour.
