Job summary

Atrium Health in Concord, NC is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support patient care areas with high standards of instrument processing and sterilization.

You will identify malfunctions, perform efficacy testing, clean and assemble instruments, and carry out steam and low temperature sterilization, documenting results.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with CSPDT or CRCST certification; prior hospital perioperative experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify, respond and report malfunctions and/or alarms.
• Perform efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment.
• Identify manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to the manufacturer\'s IFU for all general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, power, instrumentation.
• Perform flexible scope processing utilizing High Level Disinfection (HLD).
• Determine, prepare, and use supplies required in the assembly process.
• Identify, inspect, assemble general & specialty instruments checking for cleanliness & functionality utilizing count sheets.
• Package and label instrumentation following standards.
• Safely determine sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance with verification and documentation of sterilization process.
• Perform high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
