Job summary

CU Boulder Division of Public Safety is seeking a CSO Supervisor (Tech III) to lead the Community Safety Official unit and coordinate with campus partners to address safety concerns.

This role supervises CSOs, manages staffing, payroll, and equipment, and participates in budget planning and procurement. It requires strong leadership, security operations experience, and the ability to work evenings and weekends on a university campus.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating security operations.
• Strong ability to recruit, train, and manage staff with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage CSO staff, including recruitment, hiring, training, and oversight.
• Oversee staffing requests and scheduling in accordance with campus policies.
• Provide and review annual performance plans and conduct coaching and evaluations.
• Manage scheduling, work assignments, and resolve personnel issues.
• Supervise CSOs responsible for lock/unlock procedures and routine security patrols.
• Maintain staffing levels, payroll, and equipment management.
• Collaborate with police personnel and campus partners to address safety concerns.
• Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Develop and maintain a structured CSO training program.
• Ensure training covers necessary skills and databases.
• Align training plans with DPS policy and track completion.
• Review fiscal budget plans and oversee purchases per procurement policies.
