Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Security Sergeant Supervisor to lead Campus Security Officers on the evening shift. You will ensure efficient shift operations, keep certifications current, and train staff in accordance with university policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include evaluating performance, reporting, and coordinating with campus partners to uphold safety and compliance across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Three years in safety, security, law enforcement or emergency services.
• One year supervisory experience; leadership and mediation skills preferred.
• Experience in higher education is a plus.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment with discretion and integrity.
• Strong written and oral communication, and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products; valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Campus Security Officers during assigned shifts.
• Assign duties, communicate policy changes, and conduct training.
• Perform annual performance evaluations and document actions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal standards.
• Maintain attendance, review reports, and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with campus offices and committees as needed.
• Attend meetings and participate in special projects.
