Job summary

Silver Wings Aerospace in Homestead/Princeton, Florida, is seeking a Test Technician I to perform functional tests on CSD and IDG units per CMM, and to familiarize with test stands and equipment.

You will conduct routine and preventative maintenance, read schematics, maintain logs, ensure safety, and support engineering with new capability development. FAA and company quality policies apply; you must provide or own essential tools and report any issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Experience in aircraft maintenance or repair/overhaul is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, SRMs, and CMMs.
• Must possess basic tools or provide own tools for day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional tests of CSD and IDG per CMM and FAA guidance.
• Maintain test stands and related equipment; perform preventative maintenance.
• Record data and ensure compliance with Inspection Procedures Manual and Quality Policies.
• Support engineering with new capability development and maintain open communication with management.
• Ensure on-time delivery of units while maintaining safety and workspace cleanliness.

Overview of Responsibilities

The Test Technician I shall functional test CSD (Constand Speed Drive) and IDG (Integrated Drive Generator) per CMM. CSD/IDG Test Technician shall familiarize himself with test stands and other test equipment related to the CSD/IDG. CSD/IDG Test Technician shall also perform routine, non-routine and preventative maintenance on all test equipment according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Silver Wings Aerospace.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform work assignments as determined by the shop management.
• Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical data, to customer supplications and regulatory requirements.
• Use appropriate testing techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.
• Utilizes the proper test equipment or suitable alternative and perform s preventative as needed.
• Records information and accomplishes the work assignment in compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual and Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Assist Department Manager and Engineers with new capability development of repairs received Maintain open two-way communication with Manager and team mates appropriately sharing both good and bad news
• Provide units in a timely manner to meet company OTD deadlines.
• Maintain personal and shop calibrated tools is satisfactory operational condition.
• Comply with all safety directives and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Assist Department Manager and Engineers with new capability development of repairs received Maintain open two-way communication with Manager and team mates appropriately sharing both good and bad news.

• Must be capable of using standard tools to include but not limited to; screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets and sockets, torque drivers and wrenches, multi-meters, soldering irons, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, flow meters, psi gauges, temperature measurement, safety wire pliers, or any other tool required for a particular maintenance function.
• Experience in aircraft manufacturing, installation, and repair/overhaul of aircraft components. Familiar with aircraft specifications as applied to final and in-process inspections.
• Working knowledge of Federal Aircraft Regulations (FAR).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, Standard Repair Manuals (SRM), & component maintenance manuals (CMM).
• Work overtime as required by production requirements.
