Job summary

Airflight Aerospace is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Technician to join our growing component repair operation. This hands-on role tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls electromechanical aircraft components and accessories.

The ideal candidate will diagnose electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues at circuit and component levels, with preference for military aviation, avionics, or C‑130 experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree, military technical training, or technical certification preferred.
• Experience with aviation electrical/electromechanical systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and diagnostic testing of electromechanical components and accessories using diagnostic equipment.
• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, reassemble, and test electromechanical components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
• Document inspections, test results, and repairs accurately.
• Assist in designing and validating specialized test equipment and tooling.
• Develop test setups capable of simulating electrical signals and mechanical loads.

Airflight Aerospace is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Technician to join our growing component repair operation.

This hands on position is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling electromechanical aircraft components and accessories. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair components at the circuit and mechanical component level.

Experience with C 130 aircraft components, military aviation, avionics, or electromechanical accessories is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional and diagnostic testing of electromechanical components, actuators, controllers, and accessories using multimeters, oscilloscopes, specialized test benches, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, reassemble, and test electromechanical components.
• Perform circuit board repairs, precision soldering, wire splicing, terminal pinning, connector and cannon plug repairs.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, Air Force Technical Orders, Component Maintenance Manuals, and other approved technical data.
• Accurately document inspections, test results, failure analysis, repairs, and final testing.
• Assist with the design, fabrication, programming, troubleshooting, and validation of specialized test equipment and tooling.
• Develop or support test equipment capable of simulating electrical signals, fluid pressure, airflow, torque, mechanical loads, and component feedback.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, circuit theory, mechanical assemblies, motors, gears, bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical failures and determine root cause.
• Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Strong soldering, wiring, connector, and circuit board repair skills.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, height gauges, and depth gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
• Ability to meet applicable requirements for access to ITAR controlled technical data and defense related articles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with LabVIEW, including programming or modifying automated component test equipment, is highly desirable.
• Experience designing, building, troubleshooting, or maintaining custom aviation test benches is strongly preferred.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree, military technical training, or technical certification in avionics, electronics, electromechanical technology, mechatronics, aviation maintenance, or a related field is preferred.

3 to 6 years of hands on aviation electrical, avionics, instrument, or electromechanical component maintenance experience preferred.

Previous C 130 or military aviation maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
