Changing Lives Family Care LLC in Virginia Beach area is seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) to join our behavioral health team. The CSAC will provide individual and group counseling, assessments, treatment planning, and relapse prevention for adults and adolescents, in community-based and office-based settings.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia CSAC credential.
• Experience with individuals experiencing substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsabilités

• Complete comprehensive substance use assessments.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual and group substance use counseling.
• Deliver relapse prevention education and recovery planning.
• Utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) and evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Coordinate care with physicians, behavioral health providers, probation officers, and community agencies.
• Assist clients with housing, employment, education, transportation, and community resources.
• Maintain timely, Medicaid-compliant clinical documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning when appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and required training.
