About the Role

Introduction

The CSA Project Engineer supports the civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) scope on large industrial and mission-critical projects, from preconstruction through turnover. This role runs the submittal, RFI, and document control process for the CSA package, reviews drawings for conflicts before they reach the field, tracks procurement and quality records, and supports the Project Superintendent and Project Manager in daily execution. This position is fully onsite at the project in Boise, ID.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2-4 years of project engineering, field engineering, or construction experience supporting civil, structural, or architectural scopes on industrial or commercial projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.

  • Able to work fully onsite in Boise, ID, ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, access all areas and levels of an active construction site, pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, and work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Data center, semiconductor fab, or other mission-critical project experience.

  • Working knowledge of CSA construction systems, including earthwork, underground utilities, foundations, concrete, structural steel, building envelope, roofing, and architectural finishes.

  • Experience managing submittals, RFIs, and shop drawing coordination with consistent turnaround discipline.

  • Ability to read civil, structural, and architectural drawings and catch conflicts between disciplines and field conditions.

  • Understanding of construction sequencing and how CSA work releases MEP rough-in and equipment setting.

  • Familiarity with codes and standards such as the IBC, ACI, AISC, and ASTM.

  • Exposure to CSA quality documentation, including concrete and steel testing reports, special inspections, and nonconformance tracking.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.

  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a strong understanding of working within a computer network.

  • Experience with project management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).

  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.

  • Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with Construction Specifications Institutes (CSI) MasterFormat.

  • Strong organization under heavy document volume, keeping every log current without being chased.

  • A strong sense of urgency and ownership, with the initiative to chase answers rather than wait for them.

  • Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.

  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.

  • Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the submittal process for the CSA package, including logging, review routing, distribution, and tracking against procurement and installation dates.

  • Prepare, track, and close out RFIs, keeping open items from accumulating ahead of the field.

  • Coordinate and review shop drawings across civil, structural, and architectural scopes for conflicts, dimensional issues, and missed interfaces before release for fabrication.

  • Review CSA drawings against each other, MEP and process layouts, and field conditions, and raise conflicts to the Superintendent, Project Manager, and design team early.

  • Maintain document control, including current drawing sets, revisions, bulletins, as-built markups, and the project record.

  • Track material procurement, fabrication, and delivery dates against the schedule, flagging long-lead items at risk.

  • Support field execution by verifying installed work against IFC drawings and specifications and tracking contractor manpower, equipment, and progress.

  • Support quality documentation, including inspection checklists, concrete and steel testing reports, special inspection records, and nonconformance tracking.

  • Assist with subcontractor coordination, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and follow up on open action items.

  • Support cost tracking, change documentation, quantity checks for progress billing, and monthly reporting for the CSA package.

  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and track site issues, constraints, and mitigation actions.

  • Manage and abide by all safety protocols, and provide a safe work environment for the project team.

  • Assist with project closeout, including punch lists, O&M manuals, warranties, and final as-built documentation.

  • Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.

  • Provide status, risk, and mitigation updates to CBC leadership and the client.
