As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms carefor patients.In this role, you willprovide safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument inspection, assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment. Youwillbe responsible forcase cart management and ensuring compliance with departmental standards
A caregiver in this position will work evenings from 3:00pm - 11:00pm or 11:00pm - 7:30am. For the first 90-days during new hire training period, a caregiver in this role will work 7:00am to 3:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide case care management.
Properly handle equipment,instrumentsand chemicals.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process.
Scan, sort, inspect and assemble,wrapand label instruments by instrument list as documented in the procedure.
Perform record keeping.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) isrequiredwithin18 monthsafter hire, unless an extension is granted at the purview of leadership
Can use the computerized instrument tracking system to perform assigned duties, including obtaining instrument count sheets, special handling instructions for instrumentation, documentingsterilizationloads, and other tasks
Militaryexperience ,such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR),AircraftMaintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered
