TheG52/G53/G54 Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)provides top-quality medical support and attention for acute perioperative management needs or acute post-operative complications. As Clinical Technician, you will play a direct role in our mission to continuously provide patients with the best healthcare experience possible.
A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, patient transfers/transport, applying external monitoring devices, further technical skills of phlebotomy, 12-lead ECG's and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross upon or within new hire period*Nursing students must obtain prior to hire*
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training (e.g., mental health)
Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level
