Job summary

BNY is seeking a Cryptography Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA, or Lake Mary, FL. This role will implement and support cryptographic solutions across the BNY Enterprise. Suitable candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity and 5+ years of related experience.

Cryptography Engineer

This role is in Lake Mary, FL or Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support cryptography and Key Management Systems (KMS) solutions across the BNY Enterprise.
• Build, integrate, and support a Cryptographic Asset Management Platform to enable the move to Post‑Quantum Cryptography (PQC).
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to determine cryptography and keys use cases.
• Build and support HSM solutions.
• Create architecture, system build, procedures, and knowledge articles documentation.
• Respond to requests from users, Internal Audit, and Federal Regulators on BNY PKI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related fields.
• Certifications: CISSP.
• 5+ years of experience installing and supporting cryptographic solutions.
• Knowledge and hands‑on experience with the following:
  • HSMs and Key Management Systems (KMS).
  • Cryptographic algorithms and key management.
  • Automation of cryptographic key services.
  • Must have experience with Thales product line – Thales HSM, Thales Ciphertrust.
• Knowledge of the following:
  • Knowledge of Oracle key vault.
  • Quantum Computing and Post‑Quantum Cryptography (PQC).
• Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards (GDPR, DORA, NIST, and ISO 27001).
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
