Job summary

Creare is seeking a hands-on Cryogenics Technician in Hanover, New Hampshire, to support engineering R&D and spaceflight hardware production programs involving cryogenic systems and thermal management. The role focuses on building unique systems for cutting‑edge applications and requires strong technical curiosity and precision.

Qualifications

• Engineering Technology degree or combination of education and experience.
• Experience with cryogenic systems, vacuum systems, temperature, pressure and flow instrumentation, or specialty fluids preferred.
• Experience with sensors, wiring, fluid systems, plumbing, or machining is highly beneficial.
• Ability to understand and apply engineering fundamentals.
• Strong organization, record‑keeping, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with AS9001 requirements is a plus.

• Plan, lay out, and assemble custom test facilities for specialized hardware.
• Assemble, instrument, and test cryogenic hardware, systems, and prototypes.
• Set up and conduct cryogenic experiments, including vacuum systems, low‑temperature instrumentation, and thermal characterization.
• Maintain cryogenic facilities, dewars, transfer systems, pumps, sensors, and insulation materials.
• Troubleshoot hardware, experiments, and facility systems.
• Record and organize experimental data; assist with data reduction and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers to support R&D test campaigns and spaceflight hardware qualification testing.

Creare seeks a hands-on Cryogenics Technician to support engineering R&D and spaceflight hardware production programs involving cryogenic systems, thermal management, cryocoolers, and hardware development. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys deep technical challenges, precision experimentation, and building unique systems for cutting‑edge applications.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, and assemble custom test facilities for specialized hardware


• Assemble, instrument, and test cryogenic hardware, systems, and prototypes.


• Set up and conduct cryogenic experiments, including vacuum systems, low‑temperature instrumentation, and thermal characterization.


• Maintain cryogenic facilities, dewars, transfer systems, pumps, sensors, and insulation materials.


• Troubleshoot hardware, experiments, and facility systems.


• Record and organize experimental data; assist with data reduction and documentation.


• Collaborate with engineers to support R&D test campaigns and spaceflight hardware qualification testing.
