Job summary

TPI Staffing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pump Technician/Mechanic in Cypress, TX to support repair, assembly, inspection, and testing of cryogenic pumps and rotating equipment in an industrial shop.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using micrometers/calipers, and performing hands-on equipment repair. Day shift; temp-to-hire; up to $25/hr with strong safety and quality focus.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers/calipers).
• 3–5 years in mechanical assembly or pump repair in industry.
• Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems and lubrication.
• Committed to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble cryogenic pumps and rotating assemblies, document wear and condition.
• Inspect components with micrometers/calipers against drawings.
• Assemble pumps and rotating parts per specs and BOMs.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and handle cryogenic components properly.
• Perform hydrostatic, pressure, leak, and functional tests and record results.
• Read drawings, BOMs, job travelers, and work instructions.
• Operate hand/power tools and overhead crane safely.
• Identify nonconforming parts and follow quality procedures.
• Keep personal tool set ready and maintain discipline in the shop.
