Job summary

Chart, Inc. in Orem, UT, is seeking a Process Engineer to lead conceptual design of our cryogenic process technologies. You will work autonomously within a small team, progressing from concept to installation and commissioning on-site.

The role involves developing process simulations, supplying equipment data sheets, creating PFDs, and participating in FEED studies, startup manuals, and prototype operations.

Qualifications

• Required knowledge of chemical engineering first principles, especially thermodynamics and heat/mass transfer.
• Experience using process simulation software for steady-state and dynamic analysis.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to prepare process data sheets, P&IDs, and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support process development for Cryogenic Carbon Capture technology using Aspen Plus/HYSYS.
• Create heat and material balances via simulations; develop FEED studies.
• Prepare Process Flow Diagrams and equipment data sheets; assist in P&IDs.
• Assist in wiring/control drawings for R&D work; interact with vendors and mechanical engineers.
• Help prepare Start-up manuals and participate in prototype operations.
