Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. in Orem, UT, seeks a Process Engineer to take engineering responsibility from conceptual design to detailed execution of Chart process technologies.

You will work autonomously on open-ended tasks and interact with all stages of technology development, from new equipment design to sourcing and operation. The role requires knowledge of Aspen Plus/HYSYS and thermodynamics, plus strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• ASPEN Plus/HYSYS knowledge and dynamics simulation experience.
• Strong grounding in thermodynamics and heat/mass transfer.
• Proven teamwork skills to collaborate across disciplines.
• Good organizational skills to manage tasks to schedule.
• Strong verbal and written communication to explain challenges and solutions.
• Ability to interface with other engineering disciplines and customers.

Responsibilities

• Support process development for Cryogenic Carbon Capture technology.
• Simulate steady-state and transient processes; generate heat/mass balances.
• Develop feasibility, preFEED, and FEED studies with clients and engineers.
• Prepare process equipment data sheets and equipment lists.
• Create Process Flow Diagrams and P&ID diagrams.
• Assist in wiring/loop drawings and control system architectures.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment sourcing and data provision.
• Review others' process work to ensure quality and consistency.
• Assist in startup/operating manual preparation.
• Participate in experimental work and prototype operation.
• Develop industrial-grade process control including MPC and HMI (preferred).
