Job summary
PsiQuantum in Milpitas, California is seeking a Manager, Process Control Engineer to design, implement, commission, and operate the cryogenic control systems for cryoplants, cryostats, and distribution networks.
You will lead PLC hardware/software development, commissioning, and mentor the Cryogenics Controls team, establishing best practices while collaborating with Cryogenic Engineers on global installations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
- 7–10+ years designing and commissioning industrial process control systems.
- Hands-on PLC automation experience and instrumentation knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, implementation, and commissioning of PLC-based cryogenic control systems.
- Serve as electrical engineering lead for up to 480 V systems and coordinate with specialists.
- Design and commission instrumentation, PLC cabinets, and power distribution.
- Define the controls hardware architecture and ensure system integration.
- Develop PLC software, safety interlocks, and control narratives.
- Develop HMI applications for diagnostics, trending, and alarm management.
- Lead installation, testing, startup, and performance validation of new systems.
- Develop data acquisition, historian integration, and analytics for optimization.
