Job summary

xLight Inc. is hiring a Cryogenic Instrumentation Engineer to design and integrate full instrumentation for RF cryomodules, including temperature, level, flow, and pressure sensing, with wiring harnesses and feedthroughs.

The role emphasizes manufacturability, repeatability, and robust assembly for production. You will collaborate across cryogenics, SRF/RF, vacuum, controls, and mechanical engineering to ensure a coherent instrumentation package within the larger cryomodule, contributing to

Qualifications

• Experience in sensor/instrumentation design including wiring harness or cable design.
• Design-for-manufacturing/assembly experience, taking hardware from concept to repeatable production.
• Ability to read/write schematics and mechanical drawings; make sound packaging decisions.

Responsibilities

• Select and specify the cryomodule sensor suite and related wiring.
• Coordinate sensor placement with cryogenics, SRF, and systems teams.
• Design mounting, thermal anchoring, and low-heat-leak wiring harnesses.
• Create connectors, feedthroughs, pinouts, and cable management schemes.
• Produce complete design package: drawings, BOMs, harness diagrams, work instructions.
