Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Fluids Engineer for the Launch Hardware Engineering team. You will design and deploy cryogenic and high-pressure fluid systems to support Starship, Superheavy Booster, and related test sites.

Responsibilities include thermodynamics analysis, piping design, CAD modeling, component selection, and on-site fabrication oversight. Strong communication and field readiness are essential for success at launch sites and in collaboration with operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience with fluid systems or process engineering.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace or chemical engineering.
• Experience with cryogenic fluid systems and ASME B&PVC Code is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD and pipe stress analysis tools.
• Experience with data review and analysis using Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and activate cryogenic, high pressure, oxygen-clean, hydraulic, or other fluid systems.
• Analyze thermodynamics and fluid flow for launch and production fluids systems.
• Model piping assemblies and perform piping stress analysis.
• Read and develop piping and instrumentation diagrams for complex fluids systems.
• Select components and provide detailed specifications for purchase.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline engineers for complete system design.
• Oversee fabrication and installation of fluid systems at sites, hands-on in the field.
• Plan, analyze, and troubleshoot system performance during activation and post-test reviews.
• Work with operations to ensure long-term operability and understandability of designs.
• Provide innovative solutions with minimal supervision.
