Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a skilled Thermal Fluids Engineer to design, analyze, test, and operate propulsion and fluids subsystems for lunar landers within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will develop thermo-fluids models for cryogenic propellants and guide hardware configurations, conops, and control logic. The role requires a B.S.

in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering with 3+ years in thermal-fluid analysis, proficiency in Thermal Desktop FloCAD, Sinda/Fluint, and CFD tools. U.S.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field and 3+ years in thermal fluids analysis.
  • Proficiency in Thermal Desktop FloCAD and Sinda/Fluint; FORTRAN skills required.
  • Strong background in Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and Thermodynamics.
  • Experience with cryogenic, two-phase, and gaseous fluid systems preferred.
  • CFD experience with ANSYS Fluent and FLOW3D is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and run thermo-fluids models of cryogenic propellant in spacecraft.
  • Provide guidance on optimizing hardware configuration, mission conops and control logic.
  • Quantitatively evaluate trade studies and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to advance cryogenic fluid management in space.
