Job summary

SSA Marine is seeking an Operations Manager to direct discharge and loading of provisions, luggage, ship materials, and waste for cruise operations in New Orleans. You will coordinate with customers, authorities, and unions to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

The role requires 3+ years of labor management, leadership ability, and strong knowledge of operating principles. Proficiency in MS Office 365 and CPR/license credentials are needed; flexibility including weekend work is

Qualifications

• 3+ years of labor management experience.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Knowledge of operations principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Familiarity with safety and accident-prevention codes.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends.
• CPR certification and valid driver's license; able to obtain TWIC/Port IDs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement cruise vessel operations.
• Liaise with customers, authorities, union labor and officials, contractors, and company staff on requirements.
• Ensure equipment and personnel availability to conduct tasks as per operations plan.
• Supervise staff; counsel, discipline, or recommend terminations as needed.
• Plan and conduct safety meetings addressing hazards and PPE requirements.
• Coordinate with Sr. Director Safety and HSE Manager on safety protocols.
• Ensure staff comply with policies, regulations, and laws.
• Familiarize staff with union regulations and past practices.
• Drive improvements to achieve goals and standards.
• Engage with customers to address concerns and meet satisfaction.
• Monitor spending to align with budgets; participate in financial planning.
• Investigate injuries and property damage; report findings.
• Participate in settlements of on-the-job grievances and labor-relations processes.
• Ensure staff comply with admin policies and safety rules.
• Prepare activity, payroll, and safety reports for deadlines.
• Other duties as required.
