Job summary

Celebrity Cruises is seeking a dynamic Cruise Director to lead the shipboard Hotel Management's Entertainment team. This senior leader will be the face of the brand onboard, overseeing all entertainment programming and guest experiences.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of leadership in upscale hospitality or cruise environments, and proven MC or professional entertainment experience. Shipboard background is preferred, with strong public speaking and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboard entertainment programming including production shows, live music, and events.
• Serve as Master of Ceremonies hosting shows, interviews, and onboard TV.
• Develop and motivate a diverse Entertainment team to deliver guest experiences.
• Collaborate with Hotel, F&B, Guest Relations, Revenue and Marketing to optimize guest satisfaction and revenue.
• Ensure programs meet safety, quality, environmental and operational standards.
• Monitor performance and KPIs, identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage budgets, resources, inventory, and operational efficiencies.

Job description

The Cruise Director is a senior, highly visible leader within the shipboard Hotel Management team and serves as the dynamic face of the Celebrity Cruises brand onboard. This role leads the Entertainment team and is responsible for creating engaging, memorable guest experiences while ensuring entertainment programming meets brand standards, operational goals, and key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all onboard entertainment programming, including production shows, headliners, activities, enrichment, live music, youth programs, television programming, and special events.
• Serve as the primary Master of Ceremonies, confidently hosting shows, events, interviews, and onboard television programming.
• Lead, coach, develop, and motivate a diverse Entertainment team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Collaborate with Hotel, Food & Beverage, Guest Relations, Revenue & Marketing, and other shipboard leaders to enhance guest satisfaction, guest flow, and revenue opportunities.
• Maintain the overall energy and atmosphere onboard while delivering the Celebrity Cruises experience with professionalism, style, and authenticity.
• Ensure entertainment programs, venues, equipment, and assets meet company safety, quality, environmental, and operational standards.
• Monitor entertainment performance, guest satisfaction, and key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Manage entertainment budgets, resources, inventory, and operational efficiencies.
• Develop initiatives that support revenue growth, cost efficiencies, and improved entertainment experiences.
• Provide inspirational leadership through regular coaching, recognition, training, and team development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent progressive professional experience.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience within an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, theme park, professional entertainment, or recreational environment.
• Previous shipboard experience is preferred.
• Master of Ceremonies or professional entertainment/presentation experience is required.
• Strong public speaking, hosting, presentation, and audience engagement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multicultural teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong stakeholder management, organizational, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of budgeting, resource allocation, operational efficiency, and performance management.
• Strong guest-service mindset with a passion for creating personalized and memorable experiences.
