Job summary

UNIPEC America, Inc. in Houston seeks a Crude Operator/Scheduler to manage end-to-end international crude oil movements.

You will coordinate marine, terminal, pipeline and facilities operations, schedule vessel nominations, monitor loading and transfers, and support financial settlement processes to ensure timely trades. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Business or Economics and at least 4 years of commodities scheduling experience, including waterborne scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field.
• 4+ years of commodities scheduling experience.
• 2+ years of waterborne scheduling experience.
• Understanding of contracts and Incoterms.
• Experience with international trade finance, letters of credit, and related instruments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong interpersonal, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute crude oil movements, including marine and terminal operations.
• Schedule vessel nominations, terminal transfers, and storage activities to ensure timely execution of trades.
• Prepare and submit vessel nominations and coordinate with counterparties and internal teams.
• Monitor cargo loading, discharge, transfers, and inventory movements to meet contractual obligations.
• Communicate daily with traders, counterparties, pipeline schedulers, terminals, and shipping teams to resolve issues.
• Verify loading documents including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and quality/quantity certificates.
• Calculate and confirm final delivered quantities with counterparties; resolve discrepancies.
• Record all trade details, movements and inventory in operations systems.
• Review and approve operational invoices and freight/shipping-related expenses.
• Support trade settlements by verifying data required for invoicing.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure timely month-end close activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce transport costs.
