Job summary

UNIPEC America, Inc. in Houston seeks a Shipping Operator to coordinate and monitor ship operations in support of the energy trading business, ensuring safety, reliability, and cost effectiveness under charter-party terms.

The role oversees vessel operations, voyage planning, bunkering and agency appointments, and interfaces with Chartering, Trading and Crude Operations teams to maintain compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime, such as Maritime Transportation, Maritime Business Administration, International Logistics, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of tanker commercial operation or chartering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Charter party terms (Time Charter, Voyage Charter) and shipping regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Direct vessel commercial operations and port scheduling per charter terms.
• Arrange voyages and coordinate changes to optimize costs with stakeholders.
• Monitor vessel performance and report to Chartering, Trading and Crude Operations teams as needed.
