Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or Certificate of Completion in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC/CoARTE approved program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in IL (IDFPR).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - NBRC.
• BLS within 30 days (AHA); ACLS within 1 year (AHA); NRP within 1 year (AAP); PALS within 1 year (AHA).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs all forms of respiratory therapy and related duties per policies.
• Interprets and executes physician orders; individualizes therapy to patient needs.
• Ventilator management and maintenance; alarms and settings checks.
• Performs bedside ABG testing and quality control; documentation of results.
• Educates patients and families; maintains accurate charting and records.
• Participates in patient rounds and collaborates with physicians and nurses.
