Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in respiratory therapy from a CoARC/CoARTE approved program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in Illinois and NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• BLS required; ACLS, NRP, and PALS within 1 year of hire.
• 1+ year of Respiratory Therapy experience with patient care duties.

Responsibilities

• PERFORMS PATIENT CARE ACTIVITIES TO INCLUDE ALL FORMS OF RESPIRATORY THERAPY AND OTHER ASSIGNED DUTIES UTILIZING APPLICABLE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
• Interprets and executes physician orders.
• Demonstrates ability to individualize therapy to meet patient needs.
• Demonstrates ability to anticipate patient needs and calculate medication dosages.
• Performs patient education and documents care accurately.
• Maintains infection control and safety; responds to pages and codes promptly.
