Job summary

Chippewa Valley Schools Dakota High School in Macomb, Michigan is seeking a Crossing Guard to help students arrive and depart the campus safely. This part-time position runs two hours daily with shifts at 6:30am–7:30am and 2:00pm–3:00pm, paying $15.44–$16.89 per hour.

Responsibilities include supervising students at crosswalks, stopping traffic when needed, and communicating safety rules to the school community. Annual training is provided by the Traffic Safety Association.

Qualifications

Position Summary

Supports the school district in protecting students by ensuring that children arrive and depart the school grounds and adjoining streets in a safe manner while maintaining confidentiality.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises and monitors students as they cross streets and school grounds while walking to and from school.
• Stops traffic when necessary.
• Ensures that students comply with school rules and communicates with students to monitor behavior while crossing streets.
• Maintain a safe flow of traffic on and off school grounds where students are present.
• Must be on time at your job post.
• Communicate with community, staff, and students to answer questions, disseminate or explain information.

Education:
