Job summary

Kaysville City is hiring a part-time Crossing Guard to assist pedestrians and school children in safely crossing city streets.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM on school days; 1.5 hours per shift, 3 hours per day. Wage: $16.00/hour. This position is non-exempt and does not include benefits.

Must be 18 or older; no education or experience required beyond safety awareness and the ability to communicate clearly with the public.

• Must be age 18 or older.
• Working knowledge of safety rules and regulations in assisting children in crossing streets is preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and communicate effectively verbally.

Position: Crossing Guard (part-time or substitute)

Wage: $16.00/hour

Position Summary

This position reports to the Crossing Guard Supervisor. Assists pedestrians and school children in safely crossing city streets.

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Compensated for 1.5 hours per shift, 3 hours total per day)

Morning Hours: 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM*

Monday-Thursday Afternoon Hours: 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM* and Friday Afternoon Hours: 1:15 PM - 2:00 PM*

• School District schedule changes may affect these hours.

This position does not offer benefits.

Handheld stop sign, safety vest, and traffic cones (provided).

Physical Requirements

Lifting: light - up to 20 lbs. typical

Repetitive: standing, walking, listening, talking, grasping, smiling.

Work Requirement

Outdoors - all weather conditions (Coat provided)
