Draper City is seeking a School Crossing Guard to help children cross streets safely during school arrivals and dismissals. You will position warning cones, activate 20 MPH lights, and assist students while closely monitoring traffic and stopping vehicles as needed.
Requirements include a High school diploma or GED and a valid Utah driver license. This outdoor role runs up to 10 hours per week with a pay rate of $17.58 per hour, and may involve cooperation with school staff and the Draper Police
Under the general supervision of the Crossing Guard Supervisor, this position directs actions of children and traffic at street intersections and crossing zones to ensure safe crossing while children attend school.
Position requires a variety of physical activities while working outdoors. Regularly required to talk, hear, see, walk, sit, stand, reach, use hands/finger to feel, handle, and grip, climb or balance and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability and discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. May be confined to small spaces to perform work. Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. (Performance of duties may require working in varied weather conditions such as extreme cold or hot conditions.) Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and dusty or greasy conditions. Frequent exposure to high levels of noise. Operate equipment and drive vehicles. Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
