Job summary

Academy District 20 is seeking a Crosswalk Guard for da Vinci Academy in Colorado Springs. The role directs children and traffic at crosswalks to ensure safe crossing and communicates with school staff and safety personnel as needed.

The position is part-time, outdoors, with varied school-day hours. The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent and has First Aid/CPR certification, emphasizing safety and clear public interaction.

Qualifications

• First Aid/ CPR certification (American Heart Association / Red Cross) required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with safety and crowd control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs the action of children and traffic at assigned crosswalks to ensure safe crossing of students.
• Reports incidents to principal or safety personnel as required.
• Maintains communication with school staff and local police or security when needed.
• Supervises parking lots and school grounds.

Responsibilities

Directs the action of children and traffic at assigned crosswalks in order to ensure safe crossing of students. The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. Reports consistently for work as scheduled Performs other duties as assigned Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards Directs action of children at an assigned crosswalk in order to ensure safe crossing Directs visitors to office Escorts children across the street and parking lots Issues verbal warnings, reports misconduct, and requests assistance from appropriate personnel as required Maintains communications with the building principal and/or Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, or Air Force Security Police regarding incidents that occur at assigned locations that could potentially impact the safety of pedestrians Monitors student(s) behavior, ensuring their compliance to district/building rules, policies, and regulations Supervises parking lots and school grounds
