Job summary

Somafina is a nutraceutical contract manufacturer in Layton, Utah. We are seeking a General Laboratory Technician for 30 hours per week to support microbiology and chemistry labs, perform routine testing, sample preparation, and documentation under cGMP and quality systems.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED; science degree preferred. This role offers cross-training across laboratory functions, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and timely task completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related field preferred.
• Experience in laboratory, quality, manufacturing, or dietary supplement industries may substitute for education.
• Performs routine testing, sample prep, documentation, and other quality tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receives, documents, labels, organizes, and prepares samples for testing.
• Assists with sample receipt, tracking, organization, and entry into systems.
• Performs laboratory testing per approved methods and SOPs.
• Follows aseptic techniques, safety, and quality system requirements.
