Daylight Transport in Fontana, CA is seeking a reliable Dockworker to support the movement of freight across the dock. You will follow dock safety regulations, operate equipment such as a forklift, and complete dock paperwork and housekeeping to keep the yard organized.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and the ability to read simple instructions. Flexibility to work weekends may be necessary.

Schedule : This will be a 5-day work week with a start time between 2pm and 4pm while working 8-10 hours each day. Flexibility is a MUST as you may have to work weekends as well.
This position is responsible for the successful movement of freight across the dock. As part of this movement, the dockworker is to adhere to all dock safety regulations regarding the movement of freight with designated equipment, such as a forklift. Furthermore, the dockworker is to follow all standard operating procedures regarding the completion of dock paperwork and dock cleanliness.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Prior experience preferred. Must be able to drive a forklift.
Good command of the English language a must. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Must be forklift certified and have successfully completed the Dock Training Program.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
