Job summary

TA Services seeks a Director Cross Dock Operations to lead national cross-dock activities and optimize automotive freight flow across the U.S. and Mexico.

This hands-on leadership role requires coordinating with 3PLs, vendors, and internal teams to meet production windows. You will oversee WMS/TMS processes, drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, manage the budget, and mentor regional managers while promoting safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of progressive leadership in warehousing or cross-dock operations.
  • Experience managing automotive logistics including JIT and cross-border US-Mexico.
  • Proficiency with WMS, TMS, and supply chain analytics.

Job Description

1st Shift – 8AM – 5PM – Flexibility Required

This is a full-time leadership position with a schedule based on operational and customer requirements. The role requires flexibility to support cross-dock operations across the United States and Mexico, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer Relations & Performance: Serve as the primary operational contact for customers, manage escalations, lead MBRs and QBRs, monitor network KPIs, and develop corrective action plans to maintain service-level expectations.
  • 3PL & Vendor Management: Manage and hold third-party cross-dock providers accountable to established KPIs and SLAs, conduct operational and financial audits, resolve escalations, and drive strong vendor performance.
  • Operational Strategy & Execution: Optimize throughput across internal and 3PL operations, ensure automotive freight moves within required production windows, manage US-Mexico cross-border flow, plan for capacity needs, and standardize SOPs across the network.
  • Technology & Continuous Improvement: Oversee WMS and TMS processes, use data and analytics to drive operational decisions, and lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, accuracy, and minimizing freight damage.
  • Financial & Leadership Accountability: Own the cross-dock operations budget, drive cost-per-unit reductions and operational efficiency, provide leadership to regional management, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, service, results, and continuous improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position supports multiple cross-dock operations across the United States and Mexico.
  • International travel of up to 40% may be required to visit, audit, and support internal and 3PL facilities.
  • This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring a willingness to work alongside dock and warehouse teams when operational support or backup is needed.
  • The role may require working in warehouse and cross-dock environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise, moving equipment, and active dock operations.
  • Schedule flexibility may be required based on customer requirements, operational needs, and service‑level commitments.
Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related technical field required.

EXPERIENCE

  • 4–6 years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, cross-dock operations, or a related environment.
  • Experience managing automotive logistics, including Just‑in‑Time (JIT) delivery and/or sequenced parts.
  • Direct experience managing third‑party logistics providers and multi‑site operations.
  • Proven experience managing US‑Mexico cross‑border logistics, customs requirements, and Mexican logistics providers.
  • Advanced knowledge of WMS, TMS, and supply chain analytics platforms.
  • Strong understanding of operational KPIs, SLAs, financial performance, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex logistics data into actionable strategies.

PAY/BENEFITS/PERKS

  • Hourly Rate/Annual Salary: Based on experience and qualifications.
  • Accrue up to five days PTO in first year. Two‑weeks vacation, plus one week PTO accrue on first anniversary.
