Job summary

Lansing Community College seeks a part-time Assistant Cross Country Coach to support the college's athletics program. You will assist in recruiting student-athletes, coach Cross Country skills and techniques, and help prepare for practices and competitions while monitoring academic progress and team logistics.

The role requires flexible evenings and weekends, valid driver's license, on-campus presence, and adherence to MCCAA/NJCAA rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of cross country fundamentals, training methods and competition strategy.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a college vehicle if required.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and travel as scheduled.
• Experience coaching cross country at the high school level or above is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and selecting student-athletes.
• Instruct cross country skills and techniques.
• Prepare teams for practices and competitions.
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress.
• Coordinate program operations, travel, equipment and logistics.
• Maintain team statistics per MCCAA/NJCAA requirements.
