The position is part-time and seasonal with up to 28 hours per week, on campus, requiring evenings, weekends, and travel for games. A high school diploma or GED is required; associate degree preferred.

The Assistant Softball Coach reports to the Athletic Director and works under the day-to-day direction of the Head Softball Coach in support of the Lansing Community College softball program. This position supports the recruitment and selection of student-athletes, instruction in softball skills and techniques, and preparation for practices and competitions. The Assistant Softball Coach also monitors student-athlete academic progress and coordination of program operations, including maintaining team statistics per MCCAA and NJCAA requirements. The incumbent promotes student-athlete success and represents the College in a professional manner while assisting in the administration of scheduling, travel, equipment and related team logistics. The position is expected to comply with applicable College, MCCAA, and NJCAA rules, policies and procedures and may be required to transport students using a college-owned vehicle as assigned.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.
