Job summary

Barstow Community College is seeking a part-time cross country coach to assist in planning and executing the program, recruit competitive runners, and direct conditioning and athletic performance for student-athletes. You will help maintain team statistics and foster strong ties with local high school coaches, while ensuring compliance with college rules and the Commission on Athletics.

The role also involves performing other duties as assigned, with a part-time schedule and a stipend structure

Qualifications

• Must have either an Associate's Degree and six years coaching experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and two years experience.
• Must demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of the cross country program.
• Recruit competitive players.
• Plan and direct conditioning, training, practice and athletic performance of student/athlete team members.
• Maintain team statistics and records.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local high school coaches.
• Provide compliance with college rules and policies, the Commission on Athletics and other agencies.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
