Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• 2 years of cross-connection/backflow testing experience.
• Massachusetts DEP Cross Connection Surveyor and Backflow Tester certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Determine need for backflow protection and location for premises.
• Administer the Cross Connection Program to ensure compliance with state/local regulations.
• Conduct service inspections to verify installation of an approved backflow assembly and initial testing scheduling.
• Send notices to customers and record test results in the work management system.
• Terminate water service for non-compliance with the program.
• Maintain and improve program records and GIS integrity.
• Schedule workloads, coordinate onsite inspections and deadlines with customers.
• Review distribution system plans for required cross-connection modifications.
• Monitor contractor work to ensure program implementation.
• Process billing information related to program charges.
• Operate digital devices and software to communicate and record work.
• Perform field inspections of the distribution system.
